Required Skills & Qualifications
Ability to write clear and concise prose is essential. Experience in Technical Writing of Software Product's User Manuals, Training Guides, Presentation Videos and PPTs, Release Notes, and API documentation for different audiences Experience in editing for accuracy, clarity, conciseness, consistency, fluency, and appropriateness to audience level. Ability to identify and communicate logical inconsistencies that will require author attention. Strong proficiency in skills, such as MS Office, Adobe Frame Maker, Adobe Acrobat, HTML, XML, Adobe Robo Help, Snag IT, and Captivate/Camtasia Experience with version control and version changes in documentation. Ability to convey in simple language complex/technical ideas that are difficult for the average reader to understand. Possess a masterful command of the English language in written and verbal communications. Comfort and professionalism working with persons at all levels of the organization. Self-motivated, initiative, proactive and skilled at building strong customer relationships. Any Graduate / Post-Graduate with strong technical writing skills. Experienced with documentation related to computer software, exposure to business systems and business practices ERP Product based company's technical writing experience is value added
Roles and Responsibilities:
Gather inputs, analyze, translate and compose technical information into clear, readable documents to be used by technical and non-technical personnel. Analyze functional and technical specifications of product features and convert them as guides and materials. Conduct research and write instructional guides, reference manuals, training videos and PPTs, release notes,technical documents that describe a system or application's Product Features/Architecture/Database and etc. May assist with other publications or presentation materials. Ensure all documentation is clear enough to assist end users, common audiences and detailed enough in a structured fashion to be useful for both advanced-level audiences and more technical audiences Meet with Product Managers and other team members to review documents, compile inputs/corrections, resolve incompatible comments, and provide final publishable documentation in accordance with established standards Create/maintain/update and make readily available: templates, forms and style guides Provide proofing and editing for User Manuals, Release Notes, Product Feature explanations docs, Videos, content, style and conformance. Participate in the writing/editing of training materials, content and other targeted user-facing communications. As a technical writer you will spend a lot of time interacting with internal 'experts' who develop the products you write about.
