Senior Technical Writer/lead

Job description

Job Duties:

Create or revise operation manuals, maintenance manuals, and operating instructions with minimal supervision.
Perform quality check of manuals to sure documentation adheres to all appropriate Harsco Rail standards.
Manage multiple assignments simultaneously, while working independently and with other writers.
Coordinate with engineers and product managers to get information and inputs.
Complete assignments according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style and terminology.
Select photographs, drawings, diagrams to illustrate material.
Meet deadlines to ensure tasks are completed within acceptable time and cost targets.
Drive continuous improvement.
Create new and improve existing standards and work instructions.
Rail, Heavy Industrial or Agriculture Equipment domain is preferable.

Knowledge & Work Experience:

Masters in English.
Thorough knowledge of English grammar and spelling.
Strong attention to detail.
Self-starter.
Minimum 6 years' work experience writing technical manuals for the rail, heavy industrial or agricultural equipment domain.
Proficiency in MS Word, Adobe FrameMaker and Adobe Photoshop.
Strong communication skills.
