Technical Author || Technical Writer
Job Purpose:
To develop and electronically author tooling information for delivery via the Service Information System (SIS) to dealers and customers worldwide.Job Duties:
Service Information Engineers (SIE) utilize the SIS authoring system to develop and electronically author a variety of service information types used to operate, maintain and repair Caterpillar equipment. Assignments support both new and non current product design. Service information products that are produced by SIEs have significant impact on efficiency and profitability of dealer service operations.
SIE will have continuous interaction with Project leaders, Product design support Engineers and the use of a variety of corporate systems and resources.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Mechanical/Automobile Engineering (Fresher).
Bachelors degree in Mechanical/Automobile engineering with maximum 1 year experience or equivalent accredited associate degree with maximum 2 to 3 years of experience.
Background / Experience:
Experience in Servicing/ Maintenance/Trouble shooting/Technical writing in Earth moving industry or equivalent. Person worked with Caterpillar machines will be given first preference.
Good knowledge in reading and interpreting Engineering drawings and familiarity in 3D modeling tools.
Self driven, able to complete the task given with less supervision.
Good electrical aptitude, customer focus, initiative, planning & organizing with good communication skills and interpersonal skills.
Required Software skills:
SGML, Epic editor, Canvas, Coral draw Pro-E/Creo, Vismockup.
