Job Description:
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Research, outline, write, and edit new and existing content, working closely with various departments to understand product features and target audiences
- Independently gather information from subject matter experts to develop, organize, and write procedure manuals, technical documents, and process documentation targeting both technical and business users
- Work with development and support leads to identify all documentation repositories, revise and edit, and determine the best solution for data compilation and centralized storage
- Research, create, and maintain information architecture templates that uphold organizational and legal standards, and allow for easy data migration
- Develop content in alternative media forms for maximum usability, with a consistent and cohesive voice across all documentation
- Work with software products to properly define example data and required user steps with screen images for inclusion in documents
Skills and Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in relevant technical field
- 6 to 12 years of industry experience as an effective Technical Writer
- MadCap Flare, MS Office Suite and Adobe Technical Communication Suite
- Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex topics
- Superior written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail
- Strong understanding of documentstructure formatting, styling, and template design
- Experience working independently and collaborating with local and remote development teams to improve user documentation experience using appropriate visuals and diagrams
- Proven working experience in technical writing of software documentation
- Excellent written skills in English for documentation targeting North American markets
- Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable using combinations of text and pictures
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, with an eye for prioritization
- Ability to determine the needs of end users of technical documentation
- A certification in Technical Writing
- Firm understanding of the systems development life cycle (SDLC) and Documentation Development Lifecycle (DDLC)
- Strong Team Orientation
