Position Description

We are seeking a talented Technical writer or a Senior Technical Writer (Information Developer or Senior Information Developer) who can develop and maintain content for SAP Ariba Cloud solutions. We are transforming the nature of our content to be multi-media and topic-based, and are looking for candidates who can adapt their writing approach to a variety of audiences and formats (guides, videos, User Community FAQs, bite-sized topics, etc.).

Roles and Responsibilities

• Fulfill roles as both a dedicated member of a company-wide UA team and an integrated, co-located member of an engineering team that uses the "agile" (also known as eXtreme Programming) development process.
• Work closely with engineering team members daily to provide design feedback, user interface text, and new feature content in short, five-week engineering sprints and represent the UA team in scrum meetings.
• Plan and track own work assignments and deliver them on schedule with high quality. If you are a senior writer, you may be asked to supervise the assignments of your juniors for ensuring schedule adherence and quality of the content.
• If you are a senior writer, you are expected to provide feedback on the content written by your colleagues for grammar and usability through peer reviews.
• Become an active member in Ariba's emerging user community by creating new content for the community, responding to feedback on existing content, or answering user questions.
• Participate in the evolution of the UA team by developing innovative ideas for improving doc processes with an objective to improve the customer experience and reduce cycle time.

Role Requirement

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, English, or a related field. Experienced between 4 to 9 years in writing technical documentation, ideally for large enterprise resource planning systems, cloud-based solutions, and specifically for Procurement solutions.
• Experience in documenting integration, web services, and APIs, especially if you are a senior writer
• Experience in using DITA and content management systems
• Basic understanding of HTML, XML, and cXML
• Knowledge of Siebel CRM, Jira, perforce or other source control systems,
• Knowledge of Captivate, Visio, PowerPoint, and Excel are desirable
