User Assistance Developer (Technical Writer)
Job description: User Assistance Developer
-Develop clear, accurate user assistance that suits the needs of the target audience and complies with corporate processes and regulatory requirements.
-Collaborate with various cross-functional teams including engineering, user experience, product management, marketing, customer support services, and regulatory affairs.
-Work in close collaboration with your colleagues in the Global Product Labeling team.
-Recommend user assistance structures and formats that meet technical and customer requirements.
-Work together with engineering and user experience teams in linguistic aspects of the product user interfaces.
-Review and edit the work of other team members to ensure editorial correctness and consistency in user assistance.
-Edit content created outside Global Product Labeling.
-5+ years of experience in technical communication.
-University degree in technical communication, linguistics, translation, philology, communications, psychology or usability engineering is preferred.
-Excellent English language skills, written and verbal.
-Experience in authoring quality user assistance in English for an international audience.
-Knowledge of DITA and content management systems; familiarity with multimedia and user assistance documentation formats. (Not an absolute must.)
-Experience in working with multicultural, global teams.
-Good social, communication, and teamwork skills.
-Willingness to take on new challenges.
-Excellent problem-solving skills; careful attention to detail and quality.
-Interest in working in the medical domain. Experience working in regulated environments is a plus.
-Competence in graphics applications, such as Photoshop and Illustrator, and business tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
-Experience in agile methodologies is a plus.
