Job Description
Qualifications and Experience:
* Possess a college degree in a related field such as English, Technical Communications, Engineering, or Computer Science.
* 3-5 years of technical writing experience.
* Excellent command of U.S. English (understanding, speaking, and writing)
* Excellent research, analysis, and writing skills.
* Ability to write clearly and concisely using correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
* Proven ability to write conceptual, task-oriented, and reference documentation with equal facility.
* Experience interpreting technical specifications, user stories, configuration files, code, and other technical documents as source material.
Technical and tools knowledge
* Proven ability to learn new products and technologies and to grasp technical material.
* Experience with standard office and documentation tools, including Microsoft Office 2010 or later (Required); Adobe FrameMaker (experience with Structured FrameMaker a plus); Visio; and RoboHelp; as well as documentation preparation delivery mechanisms (e.g., online Help, Web help, PDFs, HTML, etc.).
* Exposure to software development tools, including source control tools, and processes, including design, development, and quality assurance is a plus
Knowledge about the communications industry is a plus.
Soft skills
* Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Possess good planning, estimation, and organization skills.
* Ability to work independently and possess good judgment, positive attitude, and an innovative spirit.
* Ability to work with cross-functional global teams, including developers, peers, architects, and editors in remote locations and in various methods (phone, email, web conferencing).
* Ability to work on multiple deliverables for multiple products simultaneously and under time constraints.
* Ability to work in a collaborative group setting.
