Job description
Roles & Responsibilities:
- At least 4+ year experience on Rail/Loco/Train domain
- Accountable for all committed Deliverables on day to day basis Study on input requirements for individual work packages / projects
- Deploys and applies project Train Design development procedures Organizes and leads work package reviews for the project he/she is in charge, Manages Risk Assessment and Mitigation Plan
- Contributes to product definition taking into account of weight, layout, acoustics, crash and structural constraints Organizes Design / Verification reviews with internal team and customer SPCs
- Conduct self and team's internal quality checks and ensure the accuracy and consistency all across deliveries, direct & guide team members and interface with internal stake holders and customer SPCs to realize project quality and delivery schedule Mentoring & training team members on Rail/Loco/Train domain to upgrade on competency level Build knowledge repository,
- training material to train new engineers inducted into team
- Excellent oral & written communication ,
- Have rich knowledge in technical writing/ technical content creations, knowledge on LCC is an added advantage, hands on experience on maintenance demonstrations
Required Skills (Technical Competency):
- In-depth / working level expertise on rolling stock design/Loco CAB Design / Train interiors Design
- Ability to validate assemblies, various installations on Loco CAB Design / Train interiors Design Ability to design the geometrical architecture of an equipment and to optimize installation issues, preferably on train/rolling stock .
- Ability to write technical content for manual preparation.
- Ability to define component and assemblies of sub-systems as per manufacturing & assembly concepts ,
- Ability to prepare detailed Tolerance stack-up analysis and recommend feasible solutions in accordance with manufacturing capabilities,
- Ability to analyse and propose retrofit solution for existing design modifications Have clear understanding on various costs involved on proposed technical solutions, Capable of selecting appropriate fasteners for various assemblies
- Good drawing reading skills and dimensioning standard Well versed with GD&T on applying to new manufacturing drawings
- Hands-on experience on CAD tools like UG/Creo/CATIA and Capable of performing basic hand calculation on all type of mechanical design as required would be an added advantage.
- Thorough knowledge on welded joints design and calculation Good knowledge of material properties, heat treatment and surface coating Knowledge on Rail industry standards for various regions.
